Position Summary: The Nursing Home Ministry Coordinator, coordinates outreach efforts to local nursing homes or assisted living facilities, providing spiritual support, companionship, and biblical encouragement to residents.
Primary Responsibilities:
Reports to Deacon(ness) or assigned Pastor
Outreach Planning: Schedule regular visits and ministry events (worship services, devotions, prayer, music, holiday outreach) at designated nursing home(s).
Volunteer Leadership: Recruit and coordinate volunteers for visits, music ministry, Bible readings, and personal interaction.
Resident Ministry: Build relationships with residents, offering prayer, Scripture, and the love of Christ through words and presence.
Chaplain Collaboration: Maintain good communication and rapport with facility staff and chaplains.
Resource Distribution: Distribute Bibles, devotionals, and Christian literature as appropriate.
Holiday Engagement: Plan seasonal outreach events (e.g., Christmas caroling, Mother’s Day gifts, Resurrection Sunday devotions).
Qualifications:
Compassionate heart and calling to minister to the elderly.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to lead devotionals and encourage others in the faith.
Willingness to follow facility guidelines and protocols.
