Our Story
Unity Christian Center Church was founded on March 15, 1996, under the divine leadership and vision of Founder and Senior Pastor Ananias Hawkins Jr. and his wife, Co-Founder Susan Hawkins. Their mission was clear—to build a Christ-centered ministry grounded in biblical truth, spiritual growth, and unity within the body of Christ. Among the original members were Emmitt “Mickey” Greene and Lisa Greene, who served faithfully as founding members and assistant pastors, helping to establish the early structure and heart of the ministry.
The church’s beginnings took root in a temporary location on 44th and Sunnylane in Midwest City, where the founding congregation gathered in faith and fervent prayer. From those humble beginnings, the church experienced steady growth and later moved to 36 W. Memorial Road in Oklahoma City, marking a new season of outreach, teaching, and community development.
In November 2002, the Lord called Pastor Ananias Hawkins Jr. home. His life and leadership left a powerful legacy of faith, perseverance, and vision.
Following his passing, Pastor Susan Hawkins stepped into the role of Senior Pastor, continuing the mission with courage and grace, remaining true to the vision God had placed upon the ministry.
In 2005, under Pastor Susan’s leadership, the congregation moved to its current home at 12601 North Western Avenue. This transition was made possible through the gracious partnership of the Western Avenue Free Will Baptist Church, who entrusted Unity Christian Center with the continued mission of ministering to the surrounding community.
Through the years, Unity Christian Center Church has remained steadfast in its purpose—to grow in the love and knowledge of Christ and to equip believers with sound biblical teaching. Rooted in the founding scripture, Ephesians 4, the ministry emphasizes unity, maturity, and service within the body of Christ.
Today, the church continues to thrive under a strong and Spirit-led leadership team. Pastor Emmitt “Mickey” Greene now serves as the Lead Pastor, guiding the congregation with wisdom, humility, and vision, alongside Pastor Lisa Greene, Pastor Derrick, and Pastor CJ Alexander. Pastor Susan Hawkins continues to serve faithfully as Pastor Emeritus, offering guidance, and prayer as a pillar of faith and legacy within the ministry.
Unity Christian Center remains a family-oriented church, committed to strengthening families, nurturing faith, and serving the Oklahoma City community with love and compassion. Over the decades, the ministry has witnessed God’s faithfulness through every season—growing not just in number, but in unity, purpose, and power.
